Family History
In 1965, hired by Samuel Meek, John Koubek arrived with his family in Lanaudiere region to to manage “Mastigouche Fishing & Game Club” that had been operational since 1881. In 1971, the Governement du Quebec decided to abolish all private clubs. It was at the moment that John Koubek bought the property and turned it into an outfitter.
In order to continue the family business, Mrs Helen Koubek acquired it in December 2012 from his brother Peter whose acquires it from his father J.Koubek.
Several movies were shot here, including Grey Owl (1999) and Les Boys 4 (2005). Also, many celebrities came here such as Prince Philip (Duke of Edinburg), Pierce Brosnan, Carol Laure, Jean Renaud, Pierre Lebeau, Pascale Montpetit and more.
